Kathryn Myronuk does research and forecasting with an emphasis on rapidly changing technologies.
She has worked as a consulting research analyst and knowledge sommelier in Silicon Valley, primarily for technology start-ups, throughout the past decade. Her research and analysis has covered diverse technology topics such as network storage, mobile devices, mobile commerce, security-focused ISP services, telephony services, telephone directory services, and email and antispam services. Other topics have included automotive safety devices, medical records and privacy, and more.
In 2004-2005 she was a research analyst for Ray Kurzweil’s book “The Singularity is Near” (September 2005), working on charts, endnotes and references. She has also researched chart updates and has been a researcher and writer for KurzweilAI.net (editor Amara Angelica), where she reviewed between 100 and 300 news items per day to find developments that exemplify exponential change.
Before joining Silicon Valley, Kathryn worked as an energy economist doing energy-related studies including demand side management, energy use load profiles, and cost-benefit analysis of air pollution control.
She was educated at the University of California, Davis, and holds degrees in Biology and in Economics. This cross-disciplinary background has been invaluable in her work on the intersection of technologies that is at the core of exponential change.
