Roy started out at SU as an IT & AV intern during the 2011 Graduate Studies Program. Later that year, he filled the IT & AV Manager role. During his first year at SU, he also filled a “Jack of all Trades” role doing graphic design, web, and other media projects in addition to IT & AV. In early 2013, Roy transitioned into a new role as Media Project Manager working on website design, UX, and SaaS.
As of February 2014, Roy manages the Innovation Lab at Singularity University—a makerspace, demo hall, and ideation workspace. His role involves developing demos and workshops, teaching workshop classes, and maintaining the lab.
Roy received a BS in Mathematics from UCLA in 2008 then pursued marketing, IT, and analyst positions at Center for Inquiry, Cornerstone OnDemand, and Bestcovery.com. After a brief stint as a math instructor and graduate student from 2010-2011, he pivoted his life plan and joined SU in the summer of 2011.
