Sophie does customized programming for corporate clients, investor and VIP relations, and corporate sponsorships at Singularity University.Sophie is developing Exponential Finance, a new vertical conference on the converging technologies set to transform the finance industry.
Sophie joins SU from the Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford, where she generated over $115m to fund research programs as diverse as complexity in the global financial system to fruit-fly optogenetics. She managed the development team, the events and communications for a $100m campaign, and helped grow the School from $5m to $25m annual spend, for a community of over 300 academics.
Sophie is a contributor to WIRED Magazine, working on the 2012 Smart List, and curator for WIRED Money 2013, a conference on the future of finance. Sophie writes a column for the New Statesman magazine, and has contributed to the Ecologist magazine on the future of food.
Prior to Oxford, Sophie worked in strategic philanthropy, advising donors and running workshops for major private banks and their clients on effective giving and social entrepreneurship. Sophie is a London committee member for Bill Clinton’s Millennium Network, and spent 4 years on the Kids Young Benefactors Committee.
Sophie has a Geography BSc from the University of Durham, and a Masters in Migration and Diaspora from the London School of Oriental and African Studies.
