As head of SU’s marketing, Susan oversees the organization’s brand strategy and positioning, customer acquisition efforts and product marketing efforts. Susan has almost 18 years of for-profit, startup and NGO experience, and thrives on building businesses via a “glocal” approach.
Before SU’s mission, people and programs distracted her, Susan ran a consulting firm providing marketing, branding and strategic services to NGOs, startups and organizations working to make this world a better place. Prior to that, Susan was Director of Marketing for Devonshire Investors, the private equity group of Fidelity Investments. In this high profile role, Susan oversaw the branding, marketing and public relations for all of the business’ initiatives and interests around the globe, specifically in Boston, London, Stockholm, Sydney and Tokyo. Before joining Devonshire Investors in 2006, Susan managed marketing communications internally at firms in Boston and New York City.
A natural communicator and skilled marketer, Susan has received numerous awards and is consistently recognized for significant contributions to both marketing and overall company successes. Susan received a B.A. from Syracuse University in 1997 and has also engaged in post-graduate study at Mass College of Art, Boston; Harvard Graduate School of Design, Cambridge; and School of Visual Arts, New York. She has co-authored two books through the American Institute of Architects, co-chaired the Women in Design Network (including their annual conference); she is an active member of and volunteer for the San Francisco American Marketing Association and The Taproot Foundation, and is also a painter, diver, certified yoga instructor and marathon runner.
