Armed with backgrounds in neuroscience, space studies and medicine, Shawna Pandya is driven by her passion for what she deems the two “extremes” of humanity – surviving and thriving – and the point at which they converge. This background has led her to examine cutting-edge technologies for social benefit, particularly telemedicine for the developing world and space technology spin-offs for medical benefit, a field she likes to call “rocket surgery.”
